Jefferson City, Mo. – Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley today released the following statement regarding the United States Supreme Court decision upholding President Trump’s proclamation limiting entry into the United States for aliens from specified countries as well as limiting refugees:

“I am pleased to see the Supreme Court uphold the President’s power to make national security decisions,” Hawley said. “States rely on the federal government to make decisions regarding alien entry into the United States for public safety and national security reasons. As such, there is clear legal precedent for President Trump’s proclamation temporarily restricting alien entry into the country.”

In August, Attorney General Hawley joined 15 states in signing an Amicus brief in support of the executive order. You can read it here.
