Supreme Court sets Feb. 21 execution date for Sloan

Jefferson City, Mo. — The Missouri Supreme Court today scheduled a Feb. 21 execution date for Jeffrey Sloan, convicted of the December 1985 murder of his 9-year-old brother, Jason, in the family home near Lathrop. The United States Supreme Court on Jan. 8 denied Sloan's petition to review his case.

Sloan, 19 at the time of the murders, confessed to killing his parents, his 18-year-old brother, Timothy, and his brother Jason with a .38 caliber pistol as they slept. He was convicted in January 1987 of Jason's murder; the state dismissed the other three murder charges.
