Jefferson City, MO — The Miller County Circuit Court today issued an arrest warrant for a third man in connection with an ongoing investigation into the county jail and the county sheriff's department.
The Attorney General's Office filed three felony counts against former Miller County jailer Eric Taylor, 23, on criminal charges of acceding to corruption. The Attorney General also has begun extradition procedures with authorities in Georgia to have the warrant served on Taylor and have him returned to Missouri.
On Thursday, former jailer Timothy N. Scott, 30, was arrested and charged with one count of acceding to corruption. On March 9, jailer Trevor J. Plemmons was arrested and charged with four felony counts, including one count of permitting escape; one count of delivery or concealment on premises of any county jail of narcotics, liquor or prohibited articles; and two counts of acceding to corruption.
The complaints against all three defendants have been filed under seal. More arrests are expected as the investigation continues.
The charge against Taylor is a class D felony, punishable by up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine. The charge against Taylor is merely an accusation; as in all criminal cases, the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven otherwise in a court of law.
