Jefferson City, MO — A former employee of the Miller County Sheriff's Department was arrested today and charged with five felony and two misdemeanor counts as part of an ongoing investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control, the Missouri State Water Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Dake is the fourth person to be arrested on charges connected with the investigation; more arrests are expected. An arrest warrant has been issued for a fifth person who is also charged. All of the complaints against the defendants have been filed under seal. The Attorney General's Office is acting as special prosecutor on the investigation and filed the charges.
The five felony charges against Dake are class D felonies, punishable by up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine on each count. The misdemeanor charges are punishable by up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine. The charges against Dake are merely accusations; as in all criminal cases, the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven otherwise in a court of law.
