Date, location changed for preliminary hearing on defendants in Miller County case
The date and location of the preliminary hearing for six of the defendants in the investigation by state authorities into the Miller County Sheriff's Department and the Miller County jail have been changed.
The preliminary hearing now is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 8, at the Laclede County Courthouse in Lebanon.
The defendants are:

Peter S. Armstrong, charged with three counts of acceding to corruption;

David L. Birdsong, charged with two counts of stealing, four counts of bribery and one count of assault in the third degree;

Holley Dawn Dake, charged with three counts of delivery of concealment on premises of any county jail of narcotics, liquor or prohibited articles; three counts of acceding to corruption; and two counts of assault in the third degree;
-
Trevor J. Plemmons, charged with one count of permitting escape; one count of delivery or concealment on premises of any county jail of narcotics, liquor or prohibited articles; and two counts of acceding to corruption;

Timothy N. Scott, charged with one count of acceding to corruption; and
-
Larry L. Young, charged with one count of sexual assault, one count of acceding to corruption and one count of failure to execute a search warrant.
A seventh defendant, Eric Taylor, is awaiting extradition to Missouri on three charges of acceding to corruption. The charges against the defendants are merely accusations; as in all criminal cases, the defendants are presumed innocent until or unless proven otherwise in a court of law.
