Jefferson City, Mo. — A 20-page booklet with concise and updated information to help protect victims of domestic violence is now available for free to Missourians from the office of Attorney General Jay Nixon.
The free booklet has been revised to reflect changes in the law and new services and shelters for victims, Nixon said. It provides an overview and explanation of such areas of the law as protective orders and the crime victims' compensation fund, a complete listing of crime victim advocates in Missouri, and a map showing which cities have shelters for abuse victims.
To obtain one or more copies of the booklet, "Protecting Victims of Domestic Violence," e-mail or call the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Hotline at 1-800-392-8222.
Inquiries from consumers should be directed to consumer@ago.mo.gov or 1-800-392-8222 (from within Missouri) or 573-751-3321 (outside Missouri).
