Nixon speaks on his concerns as Attorney General about latest MoHELA proposal
September 11, 2006 Attorney General Jay Nixon spoke to the Missouri Retired Teachers Association at a Sept. 11 luncheon on his concerns about the latest proposal to use assets from the state's student loan authority, MoHELA, as a down payment for campus construction projects.
Also pictured is the Attorney General's wife, Georganne Wheeler Nixon, who has degrees in education and law and who taught in the Jefferson City public school system. Her father, Hubert Wheeler, was Missouri's Commissioner for Education from 1946 to 1971, and her mother, Georgia Wheeler, was a teacher and a member of the MRTA.
