Nixon commends new D.A.R.E. officers for commitment to young people
September 22, 2006 Attorney General Jay Nixon pointed to the success of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program in helping America's young people stay away from drugs, gangs and violence in a speech to a graduating class of D.A.R.E. training officers on Sept. 22 in Jefferson City. Nixon thanked the officers for making the decision to be role models for students in Missouri classrooms.
Nixon took time to visit with several D.A.R.E. students from the 5th grade at Immaculate Conception elementary school in Jefferson City who were at the graduation ceremony.
