The Cold Case Section is part of the Missouri Attorney General’s Criminal Litigation Division.
The Cold Case Section provides assistance and support to law enforcement agencies across the State of Missouri in the investigation and prosecution, (if applicable), of unsolved homicide and other violent crimes. With this effort to take a fresh look at these cold cases and the advances in forensic sciences, the hope is to provide a new focus, direction and possible resolution. The Cold Case Section’s ultimate mission is to provide a measure of justice and closure to the loved ones of those victims, who have been left with unanswered questions over time, while holding perpetrators of violent crimes accountable.
The Cold Case Section is headquartered in Jefferson City and is composed of three attorneys, three investigators, and one paralegal and a secretary.
